New Process or Material Requests (PROM)

SNF labs are dedicated to helping facilitate research using new materials and processes.  Our history is one that started in the semiconductor processing space, and many of our "standard" chemicals and procedures are documented on our user guide and on the equipment pages.  Our rules about materials are based on traditional cleanroom practices, where ionic migration properties of materials governed which tools could be used for specific purposes.  The details of the logic behind the policy and the policy itself are described in the links to the left.

BUT- times are changing, and we are evolving.  If you would like to perform "non-standard" work in our labs, please contact us.  We use a format for documenting new Processes and Materials that we call PROM.  There are some links to the left that explain who is on the committee, what the steps are to bring in new ideas, and the form that you will need to fill out and submit to get started.  The PROM committee will help you define a path to testing your ideas while keeping the rest of the researchers' in the fab going as well.
There is also a link to the archives where you can browse requests from 2013 to 2021.

Not sure if your process is "standard"?  Please ask!  Any staffer would be happy to help you.
