E241 Info Session

Event Type:
General
Tue, 16 Feb 2021 - 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

We are pleased to be announcing the info session and call for proposals for E241, which will be offered in the Spring quarter.  Please contact any staffer for the Zoom info!

For those who are not familiar, E241 is a class where teams of 2 students pursue a fab-based project at the SNF that focuses on the development/characterization of processing methods, including those used in flexible lithography, heterogeneous integration, and rapid micro prototyping.  A major part of the class is teams proposing their own project, which can be aligned with PhD-level research.  Examples of prior projects are found here:https://snfexfab.stanford.edu/snf/projects-processes/projects/fab-project-courses-e241-ee412.  Here is a link to some useful process information “Nuggets”, most of which were developed in this class. Please also find some ideas for projects here (you can access using @stanford.edu account).

If you are interested in the course, please attend the info session so that we can create a list of interested participants, facilitate teaming, and answer questions about prospective projects.  We typically have more participant interest than class slots so students will need to submit a proposal to be considered for the class.

If you are interested in taking the class/would like to express your interest in taking the class, please fill out the google spreadsheet (you need to login with SUNet ID/stanford.edu account to edit) .

We look forward to seeing you at the info session!

Due to COVID and staff limitations regarding hands-on tool trainings/process optimization, we will be limiting E241 next quarter to current Labmembers who have some level of experience in the cleanroom.  In addition, we will be reviewing/accepting proposals in early March and start tool trainings in late March, before the official start of the Spring term.  The detailed timetable is below:

--Febuary 16th 4pm: Information session

--March 9th: Final proposals due

--March12th: Teams with winning proposals are notified and are given feedback

--March 19th: Final proposals, budget, and statements of work are submitted for SNF staff approval

--March 22nd: Preliminary training sessions commence

We look forward to seeing you at the information session, and if you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to e-mail either of us.

Cheers,

Jonathan Fan and Swaroop Kommera
